How it all started
Kountry Junkin' Vintage Market was founded in 2012. It was built on my love of junk and all things shabby, rusty, chippy, and handmade.
I wanted to bring a market to the area that featured local artists and artists from around the country who celebrate a similar love for all things: JUNK! My kids were getting older and I wanted something I could do for myself as they flew the coop so to say. I knew that I wanted to be self-employed because I like to be my own boss and set my own rules.
I guess you could say "junking" is in my DNA. I have fond memories of going to auctions, yardsales, and even digging in the dump for treasures with my mom and dad....yes, you read that correctly, WE USED TO DIG IN THE DUMP AND OH WHAT TREASURES WE FOUND! I'd still dig in the dump if they'd allow it but I settle for digging wherever the wind blows me!
I'm a creative soul by nature, again deep in my DNA, thanks to my momma. I have a deep appreciation for those who create works of magic with their minds and hands.
I pour my heart and soul into making sure everything about Kountry Junkin', from the venue, the food, the vendors, the displays, make a junk lover out of you too!
When I was looking at rebranding Kountry Junkin’ I loved the term “Whiskey and Rainbows” because it described me perfectly! I am all about the happy and colorful vibes of rainbows mixed with the rough and toughness of whiskey. Thus the term “Whiskey and Rainbows” was born!
