Welcome to Kountry Junkin’s charitable project: Breaking Bread.
Kountry Junkin' and Fork Real Cafe have partnered together to serve others the best way we know how; with heart and food. This is a donated meal program that will start out by serving local hospice patients and their caregivers. We hope to grow this charity to be able to donate meals to other families who could use the extra help throughout our community. But let’s back up first…about 11 years back.
Before I started Kountry Junkin’, I worked as a hospice nurse for a decade. Through my work, I always saw a need for hospice patients and their caregivers. They are dealing with so much already, that I felt like I could help to take just one thing off their mind, by helping give them meals. I had this idea 11 years ago, right around the time I started Kountry Junkin’! However, it wasn’t the right time back then.
Now over a decade later, this dream has come to fruition! This last year I approached Ronda at Fork Real because I knew they had a similar mission as I did. She was thrilled with the idea and we quickly started to get this project in motion.
For the past 11 years, Kountry Junkin’ has been donating a percentage of all proceeds to local charities. Moving forward, Breaking Bread will be the charity that Kountry Junkin’ will be donating to and supporting.
So how can you help?
First, know that a percentage of the $5 entry fee that you pay to attend Kountry Junkin’ will always be donated to Breaking Bread!
If you’d like to donate further, you can contact me directly to donate or go to Black Hills Federal Credit Union and ask to donate to the Kountry Junkin’ Breaking Bread account.
